Vintage in Cappadocia
Autumn has arrived 🍁 Winemaking in Cappadocia goes back more than 7,000 years, and the Hittites played the largest part in developing Turkey‘s vineyards, creating classifications and exporting wine to Assyrian and Sumerian lands. Later, the Byzantines developed further cultivation methods for the vineyards. The indigenous grapes grown here – best of which are the whites Narince and Emir and reds Bogazkere, Öküzgözü and Kalecik Karası – have been producing a lot of international award-winning wines. Vintage Events are scheduled between August and October throughout Turkey and one of the biggest events takes place in Cappadocia.
