Autumn has arrived šŸ Winemaking in Cappadocia goes back more than 7,000 years, and the Hittites played the largest part in developing Turkeyā€˜s vineyards, creating classifications and exporting wine to Assyrian and Sumerian lands. Later, the Byzantines developed further cultivation methods for the vineyards. The indigenous grapes grown here – best of which are the whites Narince and Emir and reds Bogazkere, Ɩküzgƶzü and Kalecik Karası – have been producing a lot of international award-winning wines. Vintage Events are scheduled between August and October throughout Turkey and one of the biggest events takes place in Cappadocia.
